Custom Insulated Timber Garden Shed in Uckfield, East Sussex

For this garden project in Uckfield, our Carpenter East Sussex team designed and built a made-to-measure timber shed with the client. The available area was not square, so a standard prefabricated shed would not have followed the boundaries correctly. We developed the footprint around the site and created enough internal space for bicycles, garden equipment and general household storage.

Solid Timber Garden Shed with Insulation and Cladding

We constructed the shed with a solid timber frame, adding insulation, roof materials and panels to the inside and outside. The interior walls and ceiling were lined, while the floor provides a continuous storage area without internal divisions. 

We completed the exterior carpentry with horizontal timber cladding, including carefully fitted boards around the doors and windows. This construction created a purpose-built enclosure based on the actual garden layout rather than a standard rectangular size.

Custom Shed with Window, Single Door and Double Doors

The shed has two separate access points. A single timber door opens from the garden side beside the window, while wider double doors face the external paved area. The double opening provides practical clearance for moving bicycles and larger equipment in and out. The window brings natural light into the shed, with a fitted timber shelf directly beneath it for smaller tools or frequently used items. By positioning the doors on different sides, the client can access the shed conveniently from both areas.
