Custom Glazed Display Cabinets and Studio Storage in Ealing, London

For this property in Ealing, London, we made custom display cabinetry and storage combining glazed doors with open shelving. The project includes a freestanding two-door display cabinet and a stepped studio unit with enclosed artwork display space beside a six-cubby bookcase.

Custom Two-Door Glazed Display Cabinet

We built the mid-height freestanding display cabinet with four internal shelving levels behind two framed glass doors. The clear inset panels keep the contents visible, while the shelves provide space for books and display pieces.

The carcass and shelves were made from standard MDF. We used moisture-resistant MR-MDF for the door stiles and rails, with concealed European cup hinges fitted inside the cabinet.

Custom Stepped Studio Display and Storage Unit

The studio unit combines a tall, single-bay display tower with a mid-height open bookcase. Upper and lower glazed sections provide enclosed space for artwork, while six open cubbies offer accessible storage beside the tower.

We made the carcasses, internal shelves and glazing surrounds from cabinet-grade standard MDF. Clear glazing keeps the artwork on display, and the different unit heights create the stepped design.

The MDF surfaces on both units were sanded and left unfinished, ready for primer and topcoat.
