Custom Oak Balustrade and Room Divider in Uckfield, East Sussex
Back to projectsCustom Oak Balustrade and Room Divider in Uckfield, East Sussex
In Uckfield, East Sussex, we made and installed a custom timber balustrade to separate an entryway from a waiting lounge. The fitted screen creates a defined boundary between the entrance and seating area, with an open vertical-slat design.
Custom Timber Divider with an Integrated Handrail
The custom timber divider uses upright slats to form the partition. Spaces between the slats maintain views through the screen, keeping the entrance and waiting lounge visually connected.
An integrated flat handrail completes the top of the balustrade. Its simple profile complements the straight vertical slats, giving the installation consistent detailing across the screen and rail.
Natural Oak Grain with a Clear Finish
We made the divider from solid hardwood, predominantly natural oak. The timber includes straight grain and broader curved grain patterns, bringing variation to the individual slats and handrail.
A clear finish preserves the wood’s warm honey tones and visible grain. The natural timber surface continues across the installation, making the wood itself the main decorative feature.
