Custom Corner TV Unit and Display Bookcase in East Grinstead, West Sussex

For this home in East Grinstead, West Sussex, we built and fitted two custom alcove units on either side of the living room fireplace. A corner TV sideboard provides enclosed storage on the left, while a tall bookcase combines illuminated display shelving with cupboards on the right.

Custom Corner TV Sideboard with Shaker Doors

The low custom TV unit includes an angled cabinet return made to fit into the patio-door reveal. This corner arrangement accommodates the available space and positions the television at a suitable viewing angle.

Single-panel Shaker doors enclose the base storage, with satin-nickel round knobs complementing the white cabinetry. The low profile keeps the television section separate from the taller display unit across the fireplace.

Custom Display Bookcase with Warm LED Lighting

On the right, a three-door base cupboard sits beneath a custom open bookcase with five shelving tiers. The asymmetrical arrangement includes staggered display niches fitted with warm LED downlights, combining space for books and decorative pieces with enclosed storage below.

We made both units from furniture-grade MDF and finished them in satin white. Matching Shaker doors and round metal knobs connect the two designs, while their different layouts suit the television and display areas. The installation was completed with the cabinetry fitted, painted and the integrated lighting connected.
