Custom MDF Office Storage Unit in Hassocks, Ditchling

For this office project in Hassocks, near Ditchling, our Carpenter East Sussex team designed a wall-to-wall storage unit with the client. The aim was to make better use of the room and provide organised space for books, files and everyday office supplies. We built the complete unit from MDF, sizing each section to the wall and the items the client wanted to store.

Open Shelving and Drawers for the Office Storage Unit

The centre of the unit combines broad open shelves with two banks of three drawers. The shelves keep books and frequently used files visible, while the six drawers provide separate storage for smaller items that are better kept out of sight.

Lighting above the shelving helps illuminate the upper sections. Our approach to custom office carpentry services brought the main storage requirements together within one fitted installation.

Deep Side Cupboards within the MDF Office Unit

Tall cupboards on both sides are deeper than the central shelving, creating room for larger files, boxes and office equipment. Each cupboard has internal shelves behind Shaker-style doors, giving the client closed storage without reducing the open display space in the middle.

The combination of accessible shelves, drawers and deep cupboards shows how custom built in shelving can be adapted around different storage depths. Wood Fairy developed the layout with the client so every part of the wall has a clear use.
