Custom Under-Eaves Fitted Wardrobe in Tenterden, Kent

For this home in Tenterden, Kent, we built and fitted a custom MDF wardrobe beneath a sloping ceiling. The design combines hanging space and shelving behind plain slab doors, making use of the changing wall height for clothing storage.

Modern MDF Wardrobe Fitted to a Sloping Ceiling

We made the under-eaves wardrobe around the room’s dimensions, shaping the door tops and surrounding frame to follow the ceiling. Shorter sections occupy the lower space beneath the eaves, with taller compartments towards the other end of the wall.

Flat slab doors and concealed hinges give the cabinetry a modern, minimalist appearance. We installed the wardrobe in unfinished MDF, ready for edge priming and painting, with handles or push-latches to be added.

Three Hanging Bays with Upper and Lower Shelving

Inside, three hanging bays combine single and double hanging rails, with shelves above for additional storage. Polished chrome oval rails provide hanging space at different heights, allowing the internal arrangement to follow the available headroom.

A separate low cupboard contains shelving beneath the lowest part of the ceiling. Together, the hanging compartments and shelves provide storage for clothes and folded items across the full fitted arrangement.
