Custom Under Stairs Pull-Out Storage in Streatham, London

For this home in Streatham, London, we opened up a previously enclosed area beneath the staircase and fitted custom MDF storage. Pull-out sections with shelves make the space accessible, while tongue-and-groove-style fronts coordinate with the existing hallway panelling.

Custom MDF Pull-Out Units Beneath the Staircase

We built the custom under stairs storage around the changing height and depth beneath the stairs. Each section was made to fit its position along the slope, with shelves dividing the interior into separate storage levels.

The sections slide forward into the hallway, bringing their shelves and contents within reach. This gives the client easier access to belongings stored deeper beneath the staircase and makes the newly opened space useful for everyday storage.

Tongue-and-Groove-Style MDF Fronts

The MDF fronts have vertical grooves that echo the original under-stairs panelling. Their angled upper edges follow the staircase, with cup handles allowing each pull-out section to be opened individually.

When closed, the fronts form a coordinated run beneath the stairs. The matching grooves connect the separate sections visually while keeping the storage enclosed within the hallway.
