Custom U-Shaped Sliding Door Wardrobe in Golden Green, Tonbridge

For this project in Golden Green, our Carpenter Tonbridge team designed and built a made-to-measure wardrobe that wraps around three sides of the space. The U-shaped layout creates a compact walk-in area in the centre and makes use of the available wall space from floor level to near the ceiling. 

Sliding doors close the wardrobe without needing the clearance required by hinged doors. This shows how custom wardrobes can provide extensive storage while keeping the central area easy to access.

U-Shaped Wardrobe Interior with Integrated Lighting

We constructed the wardrobe from moisture-resistant MDF. The interior was roller-painted, while the outside received a spray-painted finish for an even surface across the doors and exterior panels. 

Internal lighting illuminates the wardrobe when the sliding doors are open, making its different storage sections easier to see. We incorporated custom built-in shelving along the sides and above the hanging sections, providing useful space for folded clothing and smaller items.

Sliding Door Wardrobe with Drawers, Shelves and Hanging Space

Several lower drawers provide organised storage beneath the hanging rails, while the surrounding shelves make use of narrower sections within the U-shaped layout. The combination of drawers, shelves and hanging space allows different types of clothing to be kept within one fitted unit. 

We developed the design with the client, using their ideas to determine how the wardrobe should be arranged and how each part of the space could be used. The completed layout brings their original vision together in a wardrobe designed specifically for the bedroom.
