Custom MDF TV and Display Unit in Epsom, Surrey

For this project in Epsom, our Carpenter Epsom team built a made-to-measure MDF TV and display unit across one wall of the room. The layout centres the television within a recessed area, with open shelving arranged above and on both sides. A wooden slat panel creates the backing behind the television, while the wide cupboard base provides closed storage below.

Open Shelving and LED Lighting for the Epsom TV Unit

Two broad shelves sit above the television recess, with LED lighting installed beneath them to illuminate the display area. Narrower shelves on each side provide separate spaces for books, ornaments and smaller items. 

The open arrangement gives the client a mix of long and compact compartments rather than a repeated grid. It brings custom TV & entertainment units and custom built in shelving into one fitted installation, with the television, display shelves and storage planned as a single wall unit.

Shaker-Style Storage beneath the Epsom TV Unit

The deeper base runs across the full width of the unit and is finished with six Shaker-style doors. Shelves inside the cupboards divide the available space for media equipment and other household items, while the continuous worktop forms a practical ledge beneath the open upper section. 

Long handles make each cupboard easy to open, and the closed frontage keeps stored items out of view. The surrounding MDF panels frame the slatted television area and shelving, giving the project a consistent structure from the cupboard base to the top of the unit.
